PRETTY BOY is one part crime bio pic and one part action thriller. We begin with Melvin Purvis getting his new assignment as right hand man to J. Edgar Hoover and his newly minted Federal Bureau of Investigation. Upon taking down John Dillinger, Hoover sets Purvis’ sights on the elusive Hillbilly Robin Hood, Charley “Pretty Boy” Floyd. As Purvis traces Floyd’s steps on his manhunt, we flashback to the rise and subsequent fall of the charming, dynamic and ultimately misguided bank robber, Floyd. Letting the dual timelines weave a break-neck crime saga, we track Floyd from his days bootlegging with his father and brother, to building his crew with prison mates, romancing his wife and mistress and falling for his own mythology. As the timelines collide, Floyd and Purvis meet for a final show down and tragic ending.
